The
international event celebrating books, e-books, reading and all professionals
in the trade opened yesterday in Paris. This is the 2013 Paris Book Fair being held
from 22 to 25 March 2013 at the Porte de Versailles. It is the number one
meeting place for all book-worms and addicted page-turners, as well as industry
professionals.
Every year
one country is honoured with special presence at the fair; the opportunity for
the public to discover an area of literature and authors that are lesser-known
throughout the world. The guest of honour this year is Romanian literature, the
authors of which promise some delightful discoveries.
This fair
is also a symbol of innovation, quality literature, and open-mindedness. Here
are exposed more than 2,000 international authors from forty-five countries. Around
1200 publishing houses expected to be represented. You could take part in major
interviews, debates, conferences and meetings presented by specialists.
This year
is also unique because Russian publishing houses are presented here. Everybody
who has a passion for the Russian literature has a chance to buy books of
Russian authors and get them signed. The center figure of the Russian stand is the
Institute of Translation, an organization created to support and to promote the
translation of literature in Russia. During the Paris book fair you will have
an opportunity to meet Russian authors, such as Dmitri Bykov, Pavel Basinsky,
Andreï Dmitriev, Valeri Popov, Alexandre Kabakov et Mikhaïl Shichkin.
Don’t miss
the chance to visit the number one book fair in Europe! It is opened till
Monday, 25 March 2013 at Porte de Versailles in Paris.
