There is
still time to catch the major Dali exhibition at the Georges Pompidou Centre in
Paris: it remains open until Monday 25th March. It is the biggest Dali
retrospective the world has seen in over 30 years, featuring around 200 works
spanning decades in the life of the painter.
The great surrealist artist,
Salvador Dali (1904-1989) had a huge influence on 20th century art.
This
exhibition explores all aspects of the Spanish artist's life. Both the private
and public sides of the life of this prolific painter, sculptor and writer are
presented here. Many of his most famous works are exhibited, as well as some of
his lesser known works, his surrealist films, sketches and drawings, early
works and works featuring optical devices. Several video interviews demonstrate
the mustachioed painter's love for melodrama and sensation.
Don't miss your chance to behold the works of the most unconventional and flamboyant artist, whose life and art may be exressed in one single phrase that he once said: "I myself am Surrealism".
The address
of the Georges Pompidou Centre is 19, rue Beaubourg 75004, Paris.
